Yesteryear

Privacy policy

Effective October 18, 2026

Yesteryear is made by Outport Software in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It restores photos on your device, and we designed it so your photos stay with you.

Your photos

Photos you open in Yesteryear are processed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. Restored photos are saved only to your device's photo library, and only when you choose to save them.

Information we collect

None. Yesteryear has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics, and it does not track you.

Downloads

The first time you use a feature, Yesteryear downloads the artificial intelligence model it needs from Hugging Face, a model hosting service. These downloads contain no photos or personal information. As with any download, Hugging Face can see your device's internet address.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Google Play or Apple's App Store. To confirm and restore your unlock, our purchase service, RevenueCat, receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase record. It does not receive your name, email address or photos.

Permissions

Yesteryear asks for the camera only if you choose to photograph a printed photo. When you choose a photo from your library, your phone's own photo picker shares only the photo you pick.

Children

Yesteryear is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
